In the game of rugby, there are two 22-yard lines on the pitch. There are 22 games in the AFL season, contested between teams of 22. 22 players take the field in a cricket game, played on a 22 yard strip.

The length of 22 yards is also one chain. One square chain has an area of exactly 1,000 Egyptian Sacred Cubits.

On tv show Rove Live this week, the hottest rock band in the world at this moment, Jet, played live. The lead guitarist had a prominent 22 written on his right hand. Next day I flew home. I was allocated seat 22A. On arrival, we went to grab a quick bite to eat. I wanted a plate of fried rice, and when I went to the counter to order it, discovered it was Menu Item#22.

On TV Sunday night, local travel program visitted Key West, Florida. The camera crew, finding colourful local identities in the streets, introduced us to "Love-22", his real name. Love-22 has been promoting his 22-dollar bills and other 22 paraphernalia for many years; he crops up in legendary book High Weirdness by Mail for example. He noted on camera that both of the phrases "United States Government" and "former whitehouse intern" both have exactly 22 letters. Spooky.

The difference in the value of 1480 - 1479.726 is .27399 etc. whose inverse value is once again 3.64966 or basically, 365/100. It's "Fractal" you see?"

Walking past a man in the street today talking on his mobile phone, I heard this snatch of conversation:

"I told him I've got two twenty-two"

Then tonight there was a beer stubbie lid sitting on the counter from a couple of days ago. Inside it has printed: 22. I have no idea why.

Last night at the fish and chip shop, I placed my order and was given ticket #22.

Kill Bill, the Quentin Taratino film, was said to be 222 minutes in length, as a consequence of which is was decided to split the movie into two parts. The second "Volume" is to be released 22.4.04.

Initials KB: K is 20 (as Kaph or Kappa): so KB is also 22.

The holy of holies was divided, as to its cubical contents, by the placing of the cherubims. There seems to be no especial meaning to this word, fitting it for such a place. The meanings usually assigned, though prehaps proper enough, after a fashion, as man, angel, cherub, are really not proper to the term. The word comes from Kaph-Resh-Beth = C-R-B = C*r*b, or Carab, meaning prehensile, to seize, grasp, as with talons...; as substantive it means bird...it is the British word crab, that seizes with its circular pincers,; also the word grab, as closing your fingers on something.... The real value of the word is thought to be in its numerical value, which is Kaph=20, Resh=200, Beth=2, or in a total of 222. These cherubims were 10 cubits in height, and stood with outstretched wings of 5 cubits in length, each touching, as to each, the wall upon one side, and the tip of the wing of the other, in the midst.
