"The sigil V is derived from the early Christian symbol, which made of a repetition of the first letter of the Greek word Nike, that resembles the Roman V. When repeated, it means double victory, or victory on the two planes (of Etheric and Astral). When tripled, it means victory on all three planes (Etheric, Astral and physical) - and is therefore a reference to complete initiation. The doubling of the V V is a mirror image - a reference to the fact that the Spiritual World is a mirror image of the material. In a different context, the triple, V V V, is one of the arcane greetings in initiate circles - perhaps here it is an indication that the highest level of initiation permits one to say farewell to the world."
